please read this
Two things, one more pressing than the other:
I'm done. It's finished. I'm just trying to get the formatting kinks out so I can send it to my agent and editor, but generally? Done.* Whooopee! Edited to add: I expected this novel to be about 100,000 words, but the characters would not settle down and shut up, so we've got a grand total of 122,000 words. Plus change.
Here's the important thing:
If you are going to order a signed copy of one of my books from Village Books, do not use Village Book's online automated shopping option. You need to send an email to VB's orders department saying what you want and including your telephone number. They will call you to get your credit card information and exact instructions on how you want the book(s) signed and/or dedicated. Then I'll go into the shop and take care of that.
Here's the problem: If you use the automated on-line shopping option, the book will be mailed to you from a warehouse someplace, and it won't be signed by me. Or anybody, for that matter.
Got it? Don't use the automated system. Email instead. Now, I didn't know this myself, but I feel responsible for the few of you who went ahead and did the logical thing, but then received unsigned books. If that's your situation, please email me, as I've got a solution.
