The hardest part about getting near the end of a novel is when all the threads start to come together and you've got multiple plots vying for the upper hand. Characters pushing their way to the forefront. Look HERE! HERE! Shooting off guns to get your attention, generally misbehaving.
The easiest thing about getting toward the end of a novel is when all the threads start to come together and things move fast and then faster and then break into a gallop and you're having trouble keeping up with things, character flinging themselves across the page, sprudling out dialogue faster than you can type it.
Cue the Dickens quote here.

Does this mean you're getting toward the end of your novel? : )

That must be quite a rush. Must feel like finishing a marathon or climbing a mountain (neither of which I have done) so I can't imagine. Happy Thanksgiving!

Having nothing to do with this item, I suggest you get a review of your latest book on Amazon as soon as it appears on their site to maximize coverage.

asdfg -- the Putnam marketing people work with Amazon, and they will take care of this kind of thing. Which is important, you're right.

Whoops! I was too succinct. I really meant Customer Reviews, such as you're asking for in a previous transmission about people who have weblogs and would review an early release of your book. Lots of Customer Reviews imply an interest in a book, therefore generating (I think) more sales.

As far as I know, Amazon doesn't allow customer reviews to go up until the official pub date. Critical reviews (newspapers, online mags, etc etc) go up first, and often before, pub.
