no comment?
I've been married for a good long while, and marriage is one of those partnerships that needs lots of attention or it starts to slide into the mudge. You take each other for granted. You don't notice the little things, or even the big ones. For example:
You get your hair dyed and cut and nobody notices, or nobody says anything. A hundred fifty bucks paid for the priviledge of having a woman who wears a size four stand next to you in a mirror for an hour while you are looking your absolute worst swaddled in towels with your head in a plastic bag, and the response at home?
Nada. Zilch.
Hey! Wake up, buddy. Look at my expensively coiffed head.
Oh. Yes, it looks good. Is that a new color?
I do it too, of course. He comes in and stands next to my chair for ten minutes, we talk back and forth while I keep my eyes on a fiddly bit of fabric. When I do look up, there it is: a pants leg bloody from the knee down. Would he have ever mentioned it, if I had never looked? There is that two inch scar on his arm that I swear wasn't there a year ago that I'm almost afraid to ask about. So, maybe not.
All this leading to the acknowledgement that you and I are no longer in the honeymoon stage. You flit in, see if I've got anything to say that might amuse you, and off you go again. No comment on the new, simpler, cleaner header on this page. You hate it, you like it, you want the old one back -- you really hadn't noticed.
See? Mudge.

Comment, comment!
I love it! I noticed it like yesterday, or maybe Friday - but I didn't say anything because I'm so used to people
(a) drawing massive attention to template changes, with their "do you like it, huh huh huh huh???" and
(b) screwing around and changing it like 10 times before settling on one and THEN they [see (a)].
So really, I was just waiting for my cue.
It's nice and clean, which I love. Bravissima!

Beth, thank you. And if I could comment on your blog I would have told you that you aren't alone worrying about writing in omniscient pov. I've been trying to work up the courage for a while.

I actually think I'll make Omniscent POV the topic for tomorrow's SBD, and comments will be open - so please stop by tomorrow evening and give any and all opinions.
Also? Mudge is an awesome word.

Sara, I'm sorry, but I really liked the old one. This one is clean and simple but I particularly liked the picture of the woman hunched over a writing desk with a pen - it just seemed to stand for the messiness and naked effort involved in artistic creation. (It won't, of course, stop me checking out your blog every day).

I think I like the old one better. But then it doesn't really matter .... its the content that counts.

Sara,
I read this blog everyday. Inconsiderate of me not to give you more pats on the back because I see what time and effort goes into what I flit through. I'll do better in the future.
Love the new look. Love your commentary....about the characters glaring at you..

Sara,
One time I had my living room AND dining room painted while my husband was away on business......he didn't know until I told him ....a year or so later. Otherwise MY honeymoon has been over for a long time....he excessively notices so much else....that's another story....he doesn't enter cyberspace at all ...so among other sites your blog is a kind of escape for me. I Have to go back now...see everyone later.

Weird...I came to this site earlier and saw the post about the new header and thought "it looks the same to me." I also thought "this is the CLEAN version?!?!" But I just came back and saw that you did, in fact, change the header. I don't know why the new one wasn't show up for me the first time.
Anyway...no, I don't like the new one as much as the old one. Not as much fun.

I have to side with sarandipity. The new one may be cleaner, but the old one was a LOT more interesting.
In any event, I only come here for the content, which is of course as intriguing as ever. Thsnks, Rosina, for this blog- which excellently complements your wonderful novels.
